It seems like so many people are getting divorced these days. Not just young couples who realize it was a mistake - older people, too. Some of my friend's parents have gotten divorced after being together for 30 years. This song is about an older couple realizing that they are out of love and disenchanted with each other, but still hopeful. I pray that this would find those that need it and help them remember why they fell in love in the first place.
